Botulinum Toxin is a purified protein produced by the bacterium clostridium botulinum. The product causes muscle relaxation and suppresses sweating by temporarily disrupting nerve activity to muscles and sweat glands.

Most people notice a difference after several days, with the final result visible at 2 weeks. Results typically last for 3 – 4 months but this can vary from patient to patient.
Patients with muscular physiques may require more product.

The product is injected into the required area using a very fine needle. The injections may sting for a few seconds, but most patients describe it as painless. The procedure will take around 15 – 30 minutes to complete.
Transient headache, swelling, bruising, bleeding, pain, twitching, itching, puffiness/oedema around the eyes or numbness or other changes in sensation.
Asymmetry (unevenness), temporary drooping of facial features, including eyebrows, cheeks, and mouth – occurs in 2% of cases, could last 3 weeks.
Dry eyes, double or blurred vision.
Allergy including anaphylaxis is possible but very rare.
Occasionally the treatment wears off very quickly or does not work at all. Muscle relaxant is best at treating dynamic facial lines; those caused by facial muscle activity, lines present at rest may or may not improve and can be unpredictable.

Results are temporary, and several sessions may be needed for optimal results and further expenditure will be required.
With all treatments the precise degree of improvement cannot be guaranteed. The outcome’s subjective nature also means dissatisfaction is a possible outcome regardless of effectiveness of treatment.
Initial treatment of side effects and complications is included in the cost of the procedure and therefore no refund is issued due to any of the above occurring.
Adjustments requiring more products will incur a charge.
